As you can see, the furnishings are generally late eighteenth - early nineteenth century antiques or good reproductions, except where comfort or support are primary considerations (beds, sofas, mattresses). I've scattered oriental rugs over the eight inch wide pine floors and used Japanese wood-block prints, drawings, porcelain which is my particular passion, and Mexican folk-art figures called "alebrije" for decorations. I hope you'll agree the overall effect is one of elegance, serenity, and good taste. Everywhere you will see fresh flowers, usually home grown.
